It discusses the Horton thesis that religious change results from social transformation and includes chapters by Robin Horton, Humphrey Fisher and Richard Gray. It also has chapters on Zambia by Elizabeth Colson, W Van Binsbergen, Austin Cheyeka and Felix Phiri.
