An Outline of Cinyanja Grammar is one of a series of five Zambian language grammars, published by Bookworld later Gadsden Publishers, which were originally prepared for the Survey of Language Use and Language Teaching in 1970/71. The Studies of Icibemba and Kikaonde were published in Language in Zambia; Grammatical Sketches in 1977. The planned subsequent volumes did not appear. In 1999 it was decided to publish each language grammar separately to make them available in a convenient form and at a reasonable price to teachers and students.
